Tara Cothran is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Supervisor Candidate, and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Originally from Upstate South Carolina and attending Clemson University, Tara moved to Charleston to pursue a Graduate Degree at the Citadel Graduate College. After completing her studies, Tara pursued licensure and began working clinically with many different populations, including substance use, trauma, and family therapy. She currently works for a private practice seeing individuals, couples, and families, as well as teaching Psychology for Trident Technical College and supervising Licensed Professional Counselor Associates with provisional licenses. Her clinical interests and research experience include substance use, resilience and trauma, and family dynamics. 

 

 When she is not practicing, she enjoys spending time with her loved ones, including her Maltese puppy, Penny, going out for fresh seafood, Pilates, and seeing a new release at the movie theater.
